Jamaica & HIV/AIDS
index page
A man living with HIV is making candles as part of a Jamaica Aids Support (JAS) income-generating activity called Life’s Work in Kingston. JAS finds that many of their clients are in need of income after they become sick. Very often they are forced out of work when employers discover their HIV-status. People living with the disease earn a small amount of income from the sales of their craft, but most importantly feel that they are still capable of working and creating something truly beautiful.
