Peneyambeko's journey back to health
Peneyambeko lives in the Oshakati province in the north of Namibia. She was bedridden with AIDS, but managed to get herself to the far off hospital to receive free AIDS drugs. Back in her village, she started the treatment, but with no local medics available, she relied on her aunt Julia to care for her as she recovered. Enabling community members to nurse their family and neighbours back to health is key to fighting AIDS.
